Hello everyone!! This week was just fantastic! R got baptized! It was super great! So I don't know how much I've said about R but the elders began teacher her and her mom,
M, together a few months ago. Her dad passed away last year and
it was really hard for her. Her best friend is the daughter of our Stake 1st Counselor.

So they told the Elders about her. She said when the Elders showed up it was exactly the comfort she needed. They eventually passed her off to us so she could go to YSA activities. Her
mom will get baptized very soon! She's the funniest lady! She always
sings "everything is awesome" from the Lego Movie and makes really
good Mexican food. But please pray for her to be baptized. She really
wants to but is waiting for her son, who married a Mormon, to baptize
her. But he is less active. Pray that he will have a change of heart.
We also had Zone Conference where we talked a lot about the power of
the Book of Mormon. It really is so amazing! Whether you are a member
of the church or not, I strongly encourage all of you to read it! I
promise it will only better your life if you read it with an open
heart. We also got iPads at our conference! Luckily Sister Purcell is
pretty iPad savvy and used one not too long ago so we're really just
training each other... because I forgot how to use technology! But it
really is a great tool!! But also kind of stressful. But good.
Last thing for the week. We just contacted this Korean woman who actually came here from Australia!! She came to church the next day and is really excited about
learning! She's pretty awesome. Also Sister Purcell speaks some Korean
because of Korean dramas. So they get along!

We had to drop B, though, which was pretty sad. He is still going to come to church and activities but he isn't sticking to his dates. So we kind of passed him off to the branch. We did all we could do, now he has to gain his own personal relationship with Heavenly Father.
I've also realized that having faith in the Lord's plan instead of yours is kinda hard. Because you don't know that it's His plan sometimes, it just seems like yours is falling apart. But everything happens for a reason. Especially in Missionary work! So just trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to thine own understanding.
Then T got baptized! We went to the Battalion Museum with him before with a couple
members. Good times! Then his baptism on Saturday was super short but
sweet. So the story with him is he is dating a girl who is LDS and her
family is in the same ward as R, so the same Elders. A lot of
his friends growing up were also Mormon. He's the best because he's pretty simple and straight forward. His testimony at his baptism was really great. He just simply bore that he
knew God was his loving Heavenly Father because he gave him prophets
and scriptures to guide him. He also said that baptism is like going
to the gym. You can't just go once to be ripped... Forever. Or eating
one meal once then being full.. Forever. I thought that was genius!!
It's a continual process!
The other highlight from the week was also FHE last night. We did a
church tour of Christ's life. We had the idea so members could invite
their friends to dip theirs toes into it instead of them inviting to
directly meet with the missionaries. We went to 5 different parts of
the church explaining what happened there then a part of Christ's
life. For example, in the primary room they taught about Christ's life
and ministry. They started off by briefly explaining the primary
program of the church then singing a cool acoustic version of "Tell me
the stories of Jesus". After that they showed a bible video of Christ
being baptized then him healing the woman with an issue of blood. Each
room was a short 10 minutes the we had an ice cream bar at the end. I
loved it! Not a ton people who weren't in the branch came but it was
still great! It really made me realiZe how Christ really is at the
head of this church. If people of doubts they just need to try it out.
Put it to practice and see the good it will do in their life. It was
a great week. Don't forget to keep praying and reading! Thank you so
much for all of the love and support!
