Aug 25, 2015

Hola! So crazy things happened this week! First of all my brother went
home from his mission,  plus my companion went home....so I got a little trunky.
But esta bien.

So I was taking over Santee YSA, still being an STL (Sis Training Leader) and was
pretty sure that Sister Wilson was going to be my companion. I was
also pretty sure that I was going to double cover/ white wash
Grossmont Ward after Elder Fraughton (my DL) went home. (that was his last
area) and all of those things happened! No surprises there. The big surprise was that
Sister Wilson and I are training a mini missionary, Sister Carrisoza!! It was been a blast!!!

Also this is my first family Ward! But luckily I'm still in a singles ward at the same time. Yay!!
It's been kind of crazy and hectic but oh so fun! I just love these Sisters!

So many miracles are happening. This Saturday we're having a
baptism for a woman named C. She's an elderly lady who is SO
excited to get baptized!!! She tells us every time we meet with her
how happy she is to have found the true church. I'll send pictures
next week. But she's the best! We also had Stake Conference. That was
a huge spiritual boost!! President and Sister Schmitt spoke. It was
fantastic. I want to emphasize the importance of the Priesthood.
Whether you are a member or not, God's authority is on this earth!!
This is proof that He loves His children! Of course he would do
everything he can for us. If you hold this authority, don't abuse it.
If you have access to this authority, don't take it for granted.

That's my soap box for the week.
I love you all very much! Have a lovely week.

So this week was madness!! Every 3 months we have MTE's which is a
mission wide conference. Then for 2 weeks we just go on exchanges every day so it's been crazy!  I haven't had a full day with my companion in a week and she goes home next week :(

But it's been amazing with the exchanges!! I got to go back to La Jolla!!  And I got to see everyone that I worked wtih there from my early mission!

I truly love all of these people so much! I've been thinking
a lot about this and why these people mean so much to me. Then I
thought about charity, the pure love of Christ.

"Charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not
her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

We love each other so much because we are all working hard together. It's not
competitive, we pray for each other. We want each other to succeed. We
want to know about each other's lives, we're not focused on ourselves.
There is Christlike love. Those are the most precious relationships!
Then I realized how the real world views friendships or relationships.
A lot of the time it's for personal gain, social media, just so you
can say that you have friends.

Anyway, that's what I learned this week.

Please have a wonderful week!
Oh ps quick funny story. So the ASL elders did some service this past
week at a catholic funeral. So these Mormon missionaries, with their
suites and name tags were at the front of this cathedral signing the
rosary. I thought it was super funny. Ok that's all. Bye!

This week has been miraculous!! First of all the iPads are super
great! Everyone was pretty skeptical at first because it's a
completely new way of teaching than before. For the past few months
we've focused on becoming master planners, teachers and finders. We
are also teaching more powerful, simple lessons and being bold. Last
transfer we had 100 baptisms mission wide (which is pretty great!) and
the iPads are just helping us move along and become more effective.
It's so awesome!!

I absolutely love the Schmitts!!! They are so inspired and Christ like. And I serve with some incredible people.

Miracles are happen every day!! We've seen a ton!!! The Lord is doing
some miraculous things and He is changing us so we can help with these
changes.

A lot of the miracles include us walking around because we are low on
miles at the end of the month. The other night we walked around our
church building and met J who is now our new investigator and is
excited to learn more. Last night we also walked around the lake side
(which is also kind of sketchy after dark) but we met a handful of
people who are also genuinely wanting and excited to meet.

Oh and yesterday we had a really sweet lunch! A lot of older sisters
in the Stake feed all the missionaries once a month and they call it
the old lady lunch. Way fun! Oh and we're still teaching our atheist
investigator. If anyone would like to share how they know God is there
I would love to hear your experiences!

Do not forget to read and pray EVERY DAY!
Love Sister P

July 21, 2015

Hello everyone! First of all I love sister Wilde!! She
also loves theater and we quote movies all the time ( apostate!) but
we have good fun. The sister training leaders (STL) are like the zone
leaders for sisters. We go on exchanges with he sisters, make sure
they're doing okay and go to the leadership training meetings with the
zone leaders. That's about it. This week we're going on 2 and I'm
pretty pumped.

I also like Santee. It is one of the sketchier areas I've been in. Our
neighbor is a pretty sweet old man but he did ask if he could have our
hair when we cut it. Last night we got offered weed but, hugs not
drugs! And last week we street-contacted a really nice man, then
another man pulled up next to him. I don't think they knew each other,
but he overheard our conversation. Then they started yelling at each
other in Arabic and things got pretty heated so we just kind of snuck
off...but all is well!! We did see a lot of miracles though!

A TON of people came to the fireside! Including all of my friends from
Penasquitos!!! We also street contacted this woman, O, twice!!!
Both times she knew it was a sign from God that we ran into her but
she wouldn't accept our message because God would lead her to where
she needed to go........uh......HE JUST DID!!!!! Anyway. Sweet lady.
We are probably going to go help her with her yard sometime soon.

Miracle number 2 is we met another woman in her front yard gardening.
Another super sweet lady! She said she's more spiritual than religious
but she does believe the base of God and all religion is love. Yes! I
think people misunderstand sometimes. God doesn't deliberately punish
us when we do wrong. Bad things still happen to people who don't do
bad things. It's just a part of life. But he loves is enough to give us
things to overcome and see the bigger picture and progress and learn
and change and just be happy!!!! After we chatted, Sister Wilde reached
in her bag and said "We want to give you something" and without
knowing what it was she said "yes I want that"...it was the Book of
Mormon. It proves that God is love.

3rd cool miracle, we added a new investigator who is atheist! We also
street-contacted her and she was super nice! She invited us back and
got us lemonade. We talked with her about the same things with the
woman in the garden about how God is love because she thinks the God
of the bible sounds like a jerk. But she said "I want to make it
perfectly clear. I'm open to changing my beliefs I just need proof".
Again the Book of Mormon! If anyone has any thoughts or ideas or
experiences we could maybe share with her that would be awesome! Let
me know ;)
